General terms and conditions

Booking and payment

Only persons with a minimum age of 18 can make reservations at “De Romanie”. Reservations made by minors are not valid.

If you wish to book, please email info@deromanie.be or fill in the booking form on the website.
If our holiday home is still available in the desired period, we will send you a written confirmation as well as the invoice by e-mail. The reservation is valid upon receipt of this confirmation and the payment of the invoice.

Terms of payment:

A deposit of 30% of the total amount payable is due within 5 days of receiving the confirmation email by bank transfer to the following account:

IBAN: BE34 7506 4288 9890, stating your booking name.

The final balance is paid at the latest 1 month before arrival, also by bank transfer to the abovementioned account.

For last-minute bookings, the total amount is payable immediately upon receipt of the bill (with deposit)

If these payment terms are not met, the reservation will be cancelled.

A rental deposit will also be charged. The payment of this deposit is made at the time of payment of the final balance or at the latest 1 week before arrival by bank transfer to the above-mentioned account number. This rental guarantee will be transferred back to your account at the latest 2 weeks after your stay, if no damage is found. A possible retention of (part of) the rental deposit will always be proportional to the damage found. The determination of this deduction will be assessed by the landlord.

Cancellation

The LANDLORD will charge the following amounts depending on the date of cancellation by the tenant:
For cancellations more than 1 month before the arrival date, the 30% deposit will NOT be refunded.
If cancelled less than 1 month before the arrival date, you will owe the FULL rental amount.
If the tenant does not use the holiday home or leaves it before the end of the rental period, there will be no refund.

House rules

  • No pets allowed
  • Maximum 11 people present + 2 small children (- 3 years)
  • Smoking is not allowed in the house. Smoking is allowed on the terrace.
  • Electricity, water and heating are included in the price. We ask our guests to treat this like a proper house mother or house father.
  • Final cleaning is included in the price (do clean the kitchen and sweep the rest) (more instructions to follow)
  • Free wifi (The network may not be used for illegal purposes. The risk is entirely for the user)
  • The holiday homes are for recreational purposes only. You may not use the holiday homes for anything other than their intended purpose. For example, they are not intended for celebrating parties, etc. in the broadest sense of the word.
  • It is great to listen to music. However, we would like to limit the volume after 10pm. The neighbours’ sleep should be respected.
  • Do not leave burning candles unattended.
  • Indoor frying or gourmets/fondues (and the like) are not allowed due to the rather strong odours (which linger in the house). What you can do is (with due caution) barbecue on your own terrace. A barbecue is available (no firelighters or charcoal).

Liability

We cannot be held liable for any injury and/or damage caused during your stay on our property. This also applies to any (noise) nuisance caused by third parties. Even if facilities on the site had to be taken out of use.

Arrival and departure

Arrival time on the day of your stay: from 16h.

The key is available via a key safe. The code will be communicated to you one week before your arrival. If you wish, we can receive you and show you around our holiday home (by appointment only).

On departure, the deadline for this is 10.00 a.m. The key must again be deposited in the key safe, and the number code turned.

No refunds can be claimed for early departure or late arrival.

Rental agreement

The person in whose name the holiday home is rented is the main tenant, and as such is also liable for any damage caused by any of his or her party occupying the lodge.

The rental agreement is personal, and cannot be transferred to anyone else.

How long we keep personal data

The Romanie does not keep your personal data longer than strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes for which your data is collected. We only use your data as necessary for bookings/reservations.

Personal data will only be provided to third parties if this is necessary to fulfil our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

As a guest, you agree to these general terms and conditions and our house rules. You automatically accept them when paying the bill for your stay.
